*A strategy-contract is considered 1 contract of the initial trade that starts the strategy execution. e.g. a single Iron Fly containing 1 option contract of each of the 4-legs is considered 1 strategy-contract. Subsequent trades that are linked to the initial execution are not counted against the per day limit.
Example 1: A particular strategy (“Bot Template”) is setup to open 1 Iron Fly at 11am ET. The strategy is setup to place a new fly after SPX moves 7 points away, and the new fly is placed 10 points away from the first. At 11am the closest ATM fly is opened at a strike of 4435. At SPX 4442 (7 points from the 4435 IF) a new IF is opened at 4445. At 4452 (7 points from the 4445 IF) a new fly is opened at 4455. In this example 3 IFs have been opened but the last 2 were linked to the initial execution (4435 IF) and as such this is considered 1 strategy-contract.
Example 2: One strategy (“Bot Template”) is setup to open 1 Iron Fly at 11am ET and another is setup to open 2 Iron Flies at 1pm ET. The Bot Templates are setup the same as in example 1. These 2 Bot Templates will use 3 total strategy-contracts.
